std::tr1::function

by Sohail Somani

Abstract: A popular component of the Boost libraries, Boost.Function, is now part of the C++ standard. In this presentation we will cover why you would want to use std::tr1::function and give you a quick overview of how it works.

Speaker bio: Sohail Somani is an independent developer who has experience in the creation and shipping of cross-platform software both as a developer and technical lead. Among other claims to infamy, he has designed and implemented (in C++) shrink-wrapped software to support multiple Grids, designed and implemented at least one compiler. At this year's BoostCon he presented a Boost Serialization library tutorial.

Sohail yearns to reduce the inefficiencies present in development organizations in everything from source control to testing software to customer feedback. Currently, Sohail can be found working on really cool computer graphics software in C++ and working in Common Lisp on top-secret stuff. Sohail strongly believes in Open Source and keeps a blog on his adventures in Lisp, C++, software engineering and the business of software.
